I have a much better understanding of ohm cooking. I have two combo amps. One is a Fender Superchamp X2. The one speaker out jack that the internal speaker is connected to says Minimum 8 ohms. The other amp is a Vox AC10 with a speaker out jack of 16 ohm. I found the Bugera TS
In my case, I also have the added burden that two of my main contributors are or were speaker manufacturers, some of whose products you will see as References below. Other associates are distributors of speaker lines. Accordingly, I made the only decision I could: All the choices in this category are mine alone. What I say to those who question my objectivity is; please closely read the rest of the References first to see my consistency and sensitivities, before making judgements on the few choices you may be understandingly skeptical about.
Any final and true judgement concerning these or any specific components requires a personal listening session with them.
42′ Fountain Lightning: Beautiful fresh water boat!! I purchased this in with fresh water hrs on it and ‘s. That winter T&D Custom Painting did the amazing transformation to this beautiful paint job.
Relax, it’s not difficult at all. Let’s start with the inputs. A balanced connection typically uses XLR connectors, which are relatively large round connectors with three pins male or three holes female in a triangular formation as shown above. This same type of cable used with professional microphones. A balanced connection reduces the risk of induced noise from power cords, radio-frequency interference RFI , and electromagnetic interference EMI.
By the way, if you are going to the expense of a balanced system, make sure it is balanced throughout the amp and not just at the inputs. In a nutshell, here is how a balanced connection works. As I mentioned above, the two signal conductors carry the same signal, but one is out of phase with the other.
Are you sure that you want to delete this answer? Yes Sorry, something has gone wrong. A powered subwoofer like a bazooka tube would be the easiest solution.
Feb 16, · The Alpine sub-woofer amplifier has a maximum power of Whats (maximum power is peak power which is double the real power) into 2 ohms when the battery is over-charging at V and the distortion is awful at 10% because the volume control is turned up too high.
Watching a movie on a properly set up surround sound system, or listening to your music through a new set of speakers can be an amazing experience. But, the key to a great home theater isn’t just spending a lot of money. Setting up the system correctly is just as important as what you buy. This guide, very simply, walks through the basics of speaker placement, how to hook everything up, and how to change a few settings to really make your system shine.
Throughout this article are links to other articles that go into more depth on each topic. Be sure to also check out our related YouTube video discussions linked below for further insights. In most rooms you won’t be able to place your speakers in the perfect spots. It would be great if every room was designed with surround sound in mind, but alas, it isn’t. Still, there are some good rules to go by.
The diagram below shows the ideal placement for speakers in a 7. Notice how the speakers are perfectly set up for one seating location, the elusive “sweet spot”. Because most people are not hermits watching movies in solitude, you will probably have a variety of seating locations. When placing your speakers, you will need to decide if you want to optimize your system for one location or, as we prefer, place speakers so that individuals in a variety of positions can experience good quality surround sound.
Your Subwoofer—Wired for Sound Wiring configurations for any application You have more than one option for connecting your subwoofer to your amplifier. But first, you must take into consideration the need to match your amplifier, subwoofer and their impedance in order to obtain the highest performance from these components.
The wiring diagrams, mentioned in the following paragraphs, are just some of the best options available to you. Important To avoid your high-powered amplifier from overheating, as well as damage to both your amp and subs, the ohms you drive your amp with must not be lower than what it is designed to handle.
How to Install a Car Amp Installing car audio amplifiers is one of the trickiest things a newbie car audio installer can attempt. Car amp installation requires that all sorts of panels be removed and that various wires be run all over the car.
Charger Sort of new to the forum, sorry if I miss anything but I’m not going into HEAVY detail, I figure if anyone is looking to install an amp, they should have prior knowledge on it before ripping apart a new car. I couldn’t find the speaker wires for the life of me anywhere on the internet, so I’m hoping this thread can help someone out who was in my predicament. Anyone can feel free to chime in for some better tips or anything I left out, including corrections.
Wire to the battery or any NON-painted screw on the trunk, you can find quite a few from the wires that come out of the harnesses once you lift the trunk lid. Personally, I flipped open the fusebox right beside the battery and with a 12v tester, went through each fuse slot. I don’t have a picture or good memory but I chose the fuse on the top right corner that says “Cigarette Lighter”.
Simply add your “Add-A-Circuit” and follow instructions on the box. Now, since these chargers produce no bass in the rear speakers, we will need to tap into the front speakers. For the purpose of this How-To, we are also skipping the idea of wiring to the sub wires. We want a Left and Right clean channel. So snap off the driver kick panel, shouldnt take much effort, pull straight up. Now, I found it easier to work with the emergency pedal pressed all the way down, your choice.
Look under there and you will see the amp. In my case, its the alpine 6 speaker amp.
Next If your subwoofer doesn’t have an internal amplifier , you’ll definitely want to connect an amplifier to it. To do this, you’ll need your subwoofer, an amplifier, at least one set of RCA cables these are the red, white, and yellow jacks on a single cable , speakers , and speaker wires. First, you’ll want to think about where you’ll keep the subwoofer.
Because the subwoofer is working mostly on the bass the low tones , it doesn’t require as much directional pushing as speakers do. Since you’ll have to run cables and wires between the subwoofer and other devices, you might want to keep it just a few feet from your screen.
Apr 20, · Aftermarket Sub/ Amp Hookup points. If you get a good HI-LOW converter, you can tap in at the speaker wires in the trunk. You will need to test and adjust the gains at the converter to even out the bass proportional to the overall sound. then you can grab from the rear speaker lines, and DOWN adjust the input gain, start at the.
One thing I learned pretty early in life is that speakers are not meant to be wired together in a haphazard manner. In fact, whenever you plan to connect more than two speakers to a two-channel amplifier — or more than four speakers to a four-channel amp — there are a few things to consider, not the least of which is the amps ability to handle low-impedance loads. Ignoring the basics is like playing Russian roulette with your amplifier: If youre lucky, itll drive the speakers without incident; if youre not, the amp will fry.
The great thing about a multiple-speaker hookup is that once you master only two basic wiring procedures — “series” and “parallel” — the world is yours to conquer. When you know how many speakers youre going to use and the impedance driving capability of your amplifier, youll be able to select a wiring scheme that will deliver the best sonic and electrical results. In some cases, it may not be one procedure or the other but a combination of the two that works best. Speakers in Series The essence of series wiring is really quite simple: When speakers are connected in this fashion, load impedance increases — the more speakers, the higher the impedance.
The most common reason for wanting to raise impedance is to lower acoustical output, as in the case of rear-fill or center-channel speakers. Speaker output declines because the amplifiers power output decreases as the load impedance increases.
This brute belts out watts and one of the few in the collection that is able to drive my Magnepan MG s. This model was released during the famous Pioneer Silver Series era which makes these black faceplate models a rare catch. An AB comparison proved that the can go head-to-head with the and
May 24, · Whats the proper way to connect a sub to 2 pa speakers? Forum. this way I could kick up the sub, or drop it down if needed. its just a little more “fine tuning” that using the x-over to drive a bass cabinet than a main speaker. As resistance goes down, the load becomes more and more difficult for the amp.
Tube Stuff Suppliers Appendix B. Tube amps have always been the amplifier of choice for the working musician. Musical myth has ascribed almost magical tone to them. While the results may not be entirely magic, tubes do have a sound that is different from solid state amplifiers, and one that happens to make amplified music sound better to the human ears and brain.
There are lots of technical and psuedo-technical explanations for why this should be true, but there is enough solid evidence that it is a real effect to trust it. The real reason to use tube amps is simply that they sound better.
These mistakes can range from simple problematic issues to things that could quickly lead to premature device failure. Let me quickly explain why. Every cable has inherent resistance. The thinner the cable, the more resistance the cable will have. There are other factors as well, but this is the big one. The more resistance a cable has, the more it will affect the frequency response which is possible at the end of the cable run.

February 3, I have the AMP and am currently using it to power my 2 front speakers in my 7. Would the AMP be able to power the subwoofer in addition to my 2 front speakers? Also, which subwoofer do you recommend of the two noted? The location would be lower front left corner of room approx. Thank you for your help!
Good question, but I do not believe the AMP will help you out. Plus placement of your sub woofer can be critical. The advantage of the bulky sub woofer is you have the ability of determining where the best location for most bass is for your room being it is a self powered dedicated enclosure. Of course since you already have it you can place the bulky sub in front of the location you are planning to install the sub in the wall and see how it sounds compared to its original location.
The problem with the low frequencies is the size of the sign way that can create dead zones in the room.
